The Bar Method is a nationally recognized barre fitness franchise built around a premium, high-touch brand experience. With over 100 independently operated studio locations, consistency, reliability, and brand cohesion are essential to the business.

As the franchise network expanded, the digital platform became a critical part of how members discovered locations, booked classes, accessed digital offerings, and stayed engaged with the brand… both in-studio and online.

Mintun partnered with The Bar Method as a long-term technical and strategic partner… responsible for designing, building, stabilizing, and evolving the systems that supported both franchisees and HQ.

The partnership spanned multiple phases of growth, acquisition, and transformation, with Mintun acting as the connective tissue between brand vision, franchise needs, and technical execution.

Growth wasn't the problem. Fragmentation was.

When Mintun first partnered with The Bar Method, the digital ecosystem had become highly fragmented. Each franchise location operated its own standalone website, resulting in over 100 individual properties that were difficult to maintain, update, or govern centrally.

Critical systems such as booking, membership access, and digital content were spread across disconnected tools, creating operational strain for HQ and ongoing frustration for franchisees. Even simple updates required manual work across dozens of sites, slowing execution and increasing risk.

As the franchise continued to scale, these limitations became more pronounced. The platform wasn't just inefficient… it was actively constraining the brand's ability to move quickly, maintain consistency, and support growth across the network.

How the System Was Built

  • Unified a fragmented franchise web ecosystem
  • Centralized governance without limiting local autonomy
  • Stabilized booking, membership, and digital class systems
  • Built platform resilience to support growth, acquisition, and disruption

Rather than applying surface-level fixes, Mintun rebuilt The Bar Method's digital foundation around scalability, control, and franchise trust.

A unified web platform was designed and developed to centralize core functionality, while still allowing individual locations to maintain a sense of ownership and local identity. API-driven booking integrations improved class discovery and scheduling, and governance controls were introduced to prevent accidental breakage at the franchise level.

As the business evolved, Mintun continued to stabilize and enhance the platform… supporting a full brand redesign, expanding digital membership offerings, and improving the reliability of mission-critical systems across the entire franchise network.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced studio closures nationwide, the digital platform became the lifeline of the business.

Mintun designed and built Bar Live, a fully branded, proprietary live-streaming platform that allowed members to continue taking classes from home… without relying on off-the-shelf tools that would compromise the brand experience.

This system was later expanded with Bar Live Local, enabling individual franchisees to stream live classes directly from their own studios… helping locations retain members, preserve relationships, and remain operational during unprecedented disruption.

Key Outcomes

  • Centralized franchise platform without sacrificing local autonomy
  • Stable booking, membership, and digital class infrastructure
  • New digital offerings enabled through live and on-demand classes
  • Platform continuity through acquisition and global disruption

Results That Matter

By unifying the platform and stabilizing mission-critical systems, The Bar Method gained the operational clarity required to support a large and growing franchise network.

Centralized governance made it possible for HQ to move faster and maintain brand consistency, while still giving individual studios the autonomy they needed to operate confidently at the local level. Booking, membership access, and digital class delivery became reliable instead of fragile… reducing friction for franchisees and improving the member experience across the board.

When the business faced moments of real pressure, including acquisition and widespread studio closures, the platform held. Digital offerings allowed members to stay engaged, franchises to remain connected to their communities, and the brand to continue operating without disruption.

As the organization matured, Mintun also ensured continuity beyond the partnership itself… successfully transitioning systems, documentation, and institutional knowledge to an internal development team. The result was not just short-term stability, but a durable platform capable of supporting the business long after the engagement concluded.

What's Next

As The Bar Method transitioned development in-house, Mintun partnered closely with internal teams to ensure continuity and confidence throughout the handoff.

Full documentation, architectural guidance, and hands-on support were provided to support the transition… with Mintun remaining available to answer questions, resolve issues, and prevent disruption as ownership shifted internally.

The result was a clean, intentional handoff that protected the platform, the franchise network, and the member experience… ensuring the business could continue evolving without instability.
